Joseph (“Joe”) Hlavacek is a Consulting Actuary with Perr&Knight, providing actuarial services for the firm’s Accident & Health clients. The actuarial services Joe provides include reserve analysis, rate development, rate filings, and product development for major medical and supplemental health insurance products.

Prior to joining Perr&Knight in 2025, Joe was a health actuarial consultant at Deloitte. There, he developed IBNR estimates for various health insurers and health plans, built benchmarking cost models, and performed actuarial audit procedures, including for Long-Term Care insurance, among other consulting services. Before Deloitte, Joe was a senior actuarial analyst at Health Care Service Corporation, where he performed pricing and reserve analysis for group life, waiver, critical illness, accidental death and dismemberment, vision, and accident insurance.

Joe earned his degree in Actuarial Science from Illinois State University. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is currently pursuing Fellowship with the Society of Actuaries and actively continuing his professional education.
