Rob Berg is a Principal & Director in Perr&Knight’s Operations & Technology Consulting Practice. In this capacity, he oversees three sub-practices that offer solution design and development, statistical reporting and implementation support services. During his twenty-plus year consulting career, Rob has designed, planned and executed operational improvements yielding more than $100 million in cost savings; effected process redesigns to maximize the benefit of new technology adoptions; planned the deployment of core software application replacements; and provided financial and strategic analyses in support of major technology investments.
Recent projects have included a state-mandated operational assessment of the nation’s third largest property insurer; leading that same organization through their largest-ever technology purchase; redesigning critical operational processes at the nation’s largest municipal risk pool; providing expert witness testimony on technology implementation and management practices and leading technical diligence on behalf of several private equity firms.
Rob has worked with a long and growing roster of companies in the insurance industry, including Aix Group, Beazley USA, Capitol Insurance Companies, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Hanover Insurance Group, Imperium Insurance Company, League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust, Liberty International Underwriters, Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust, North American Risk Services, Pacific Specialty Insurance Company, Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool, Western Reserve Group, XL Capital Corporation, Zenith Insurance Company, among others. His work on their behalf has included business process improvement initiatives, technical project rescues, vendor selection engagements, requirements gathering workshops, technology feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, business case development and presentation, outsourcing strategy development and staff training.
In addition to holding a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stony Brook University and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University, he maintains professional credentials from the American Society for Quality (Certified Six Sigma Black Belt), Stanford University (Stanford Certified Project Manager) and ISACA (COBIT 5 Foundation). He is a Silver Level member of ISACA, a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality and is a frequently sought speaker at industry trade events.
