Perr&Knight is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to work at a professional insurance consulting services firm. The Bookkeeper assists in the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions of the Finance department to accomplish the organization’s business objectives.  The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, have the ability to multi-task and provide professional expertise as needed.

What you’ll bE DOING:

  • Review invoices for accuracy and ensuring receipt of proper approvals before inputting in QuickBooks
  • Cut checks, set up ACH payments and credit card payments as necessary
    Scanning, renaming and archiving all payments in our electronic archiving system
  • Input credit card charges and reconciling corporate credit card charges
  • Sending bi-monthly payment notifications to vendors
  • Researching and resolving accounts payable issues with vendors and customers
  • Processing, compiling and recording conference, continued education and other registration requests
  • Recording weekly loss run entries
  • Reconcile, allocate and review daily sales numbers
  • Special projects as required
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Manager or Director

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related field
  • At least five years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft operating systems and products
  • Experience in QuickBooks & BillQuick a plus
  • Experience in reporting and analysis preparation
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities, multiple entities and time pressures
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, teamwork skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in organizational structure and coordinate with all departments when necessary
