Charles R. Lenz, ACAS, MAAA   |  Principal & Consulting Actuary

Charles R. Lenz is a Principal & Consulting Actuary with Perr&Knight. His primary responsibility at Perr&Knight is to manage the firm’s actuarial services for alternative market clients including captive insurance companies and other self-insureds. His projects include reserve and funding studies for insurers of various sizes, rate and form filings, product development and large commercial risk pricing support for broker clients. He has completed many actuarial feasibility studies for clients seeking to form captive insurance companies, risk retention groups and self insurance groups. Charlie has also provided ongoing actuarial support to his captive insurance company and other self-insurance clients, such as certification of reserves, retention analysis and premium determination. He has performed numerous funding studies and reserve analyses for religious entities and also has extensive experience in the California workers compensation arena.

He has serviced the property & casualty insurance industry in the areas of pricing and reserving since 1990. Prior to joining Perr&Knight's Pacific Palisades, California office, his employment included KPMG Peat Marwick and TIG Insurance Group.

Charles graduated magna cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics in 1990. He became an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society in 1995 and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries in 1996.
